Troop 121 & 1104 had an active year in 2022, with outings scheduled for almost every month and many service projects, day hikes, and scout activities throughout the year. Scroll below for a recap of some of the photo-worthy moments!

Hike & Camp — Scouts hiked and camped in Morgan Monroe Forestry

Hike & Cave — We hiked 3 miles into our campsite, atop a small cave. Scouts were able to cave all day and campout in the wilderness before hiking back out.
Back-To-Basics — The kickoff for new scouts and an opportunity for all scouts to work on rank advancement, leadership, and outdoor skills.
Canoe Exploration — During back-to-basics, our advanced scouts get the opportunity to work on a merit badge or go on an advanced skills day-trip. In 2022, we canoed 5 miles to explore a poorly mapped creek, scouting for future troop camping sights.

Court of Honor — At the end of Back-to-Basics, we take a moment to celebrate the advancements that scouts have made.
Catfish & Fry — This shoreline camping trip had scouts fishing and learning how run a trotline to catch their own dinner. The event ended with a fish fry on the shore of Lake Monroe

Hayden's Eagle Project — For Hayden's eagle project, he lead a group of scouts and volunteers in building a new footbridge and making a trail more accessible to the Ellettsville community.

Landon's Service Project — Scouts worked with the City of Bloomington to remove invasive plants from a city park,

July 4th at Linton — A long-standing annual event, the scouts volunteer during the Linton freedom festival.

NYLT — Scouts from Troop 121 joined other scouts from our council for the top leadership training available to youth.
Camp Maumee — Our annual week-long summer camp!

Day Hike — We go on several day hikes throughout the year.
Northern Tier Prep — We have scheduled many Canoe outings to help our scouts prepare for a 10-day high-adventure trip in 2023, where we will canoe the Boundary Waters from Minnesota into Canada.
Horse Camp — Scouts stayed at a horse stable and were able to learn how to ride and care for horses while working on horsemanship merit badge.
Beyond the Basics — This annual campout gives scouts the opportunity to put their skills to the test. This year's campout took place in a wilderness area on Lake Monroe, where scouts were challenged to build their own shelter and fish/forage for their own food.
Fall Camporee — The Hoosier Trails Council fall camporee was a cooking challenge campout, where scouts competed with other troops to cook the best dishes.

Service — Scouts provided service to the community throughout 2022. This photo is from a flag ceremony performed in Bloomington.
Winter Rendezvous — While this campout technically takes place in 2023, it is the final campout before our first 2023 election cycle. As a council event, we join other troops in a cold-weather camping experience at our summer camp, Camp Maumee.
